We chose the end of November hoping that the 3G/4G first team pitch would be available for today’s game but alas this is still several weeks away. Anyway, the second team pitch is not too far a walk and our party of clients, introducers, team members and friends are looking forward to a great game and liquid refreshment from the marquee bar!’.

Tim will be watching out for a number of Hoppers players who came through schools rugby and Hoppers Mini/Junior section with younger son Michael – the current Sale Sharks full back, England Saxon and recently selected for the England squad for the autumn internationals. Tim said: ‘I know a lot of the lads turning out for the first XV and with Sale Sharks moving their home games to a Friday night I’ve been able to watch a lot more first XV games this season including a couple of great home wins against Hinckley and Sheffield Tigers and I’m confident of a good performance on Saturday. Although the team lies near the foot of the table, the low points difference and losing bonus points indicate just how close Hoppers have been to winning a few more matches this season. We wish first team coach Garth Dew and his team well for Saturday!’
