HopFest 2018 – Everything you need to know

Date: 25 June 2018

One of Preston’s biggest beer, gin and music festivals, Hopfest, is taking place from Friday 6th July to Sunday 8th July at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club on Lightfoot Lane in Fulwood.

Doors open at 12pm on Friday afternoon to local businesses wanting to network whilst enjoying the finest collection of cask ales, craft beer, cider and gin that the festival has ever seen.

There will be two gin masterclasses taking place on Friday afternoon for ticket holders with Raj Solanki at 2pm and 4pm in the Gin Marquee (marquee sponsored by Gainsborough Flooring and glasses sponsored by Haleys Business Advisors), and a Meet The Brewer session with Marston’s Brewery head brewer Patrick McGinty taking place in the Real Ale Bar (bar sponsored J.A. Jackson Contractors  and glasses sponsored by Whittles Jewelers) at 3pm. The separate Craft Beer and Cider Bar is sponsored by Clive Hurt Plant Hire.

Doors open to the public at 4pm, and the music stage, sponsored by R-Walker and Sons, will be buzzing from 5pm onwards to entertain throughout Friday night and the weekend. Bands such as Neon Cactus, Sweeney Astray and The Inbetweeners are joining us  – check out the full line up here.

On Saturday afternoon the annual Touch Rugby Fancy Dress Tournament is taking place. It is £35 to enter a team of 10, which includes discounted entry into HopFest along with a place in the tournament. Supporters of the teams must buy their own tickets. There is also family fun day taking place with activities for the children along with a BBQ – and of course a chance to enjoy the huge range of drinks on offer. Entry is free for kids under 16 on Saturday too!

Sunday brings a chance to snap up the remaining drinks and a chance to hopefully soak up the sun for the remainder of the festival. The best part about Sunday? Free entry for everyone!

To buy tickets for this event visit the Skiddle website here. The event is always a complete sell out, so get in there quick as we have had to turn people away on the door in previous years.
