Hoppers Sign Ryan Glynn

Date: 03 February 2017

Preston Grasshoppers are thrilled to announce the signing of scrum half Ryan Glynn from London Welsh for the rest of the season.

Following London Welsh’s unfortunate exit from the Championship, the club initiated discussions with Ryan and were immediately convinced that his rugby pedigree, experience and fantastic attitude would be a huge boost for the squad in their bid to finish the season strongly.

Ryan, originally from Lancashire, made his premiership debut for Northampton Saints in 2011 and has had stints with Jersey and Moseley before joining London Welsh in 2014. He also boasts impressive schoolboy honours, representing England at U16, U18 and U19 level.

Chairman of Rugby Mike Bailey said:

”This is the tonic the club needs after the great win last Saturday. Ryan has been in an unfortunate position at London Welsh but we can help each other out until the end of the season. Harrison Moulding is currently injured and Michael Searle is just coming back to fitness, so Ryan is a great addition for us. Both players are going to work closely with Ryan and will hopefully learn from his experience. He has been brilliant to deal with and will be a great character to have around.

A big thank you to Andrew Lawson at Evans Halshaw of Preston for helping to sponsor Ryan.”

I’m sure Ryan will enjoy a warm welcome at the club and we’re looking forward to seeing his influence on and off the field over the next few months.
