Date: 15 June 2020

Hoppers is set to open its doors on July 4th for food and drink

Management staff have followed government guidance and implemented stringent social distancing measures meaning the public will be able to visit the club’s pop-up bar, which will be situated outside.

Richard Ellis who is project managing the reopening said: “The team here have been in a series of discussions about if and when we should open, but the prime concern was making sure anyone coming here would feel safe.

“We’ve worked hard on reworking the venue and putting in new technology so that strict social distancing and hygiene measures will be in force. This has resulted in creating a safe environment to enjoy something to eat and drink while in the company of friends and family.”

The club will be operating a booking system to maintain a safe number of visitors so that social distancing measures can be followed, and the venue is COVID-19 Secure. In the first few weeks restricted opening times will also be in operation. More details will be made available date on the club’s website and its social media channels nearer the opening date.

Richard added: “Community rugby is facing uncertain times and there will be many clubs that will have to fold because of the impact of COVID-19. By visiting Hoppers for a drink or something to eat, it will go towards enabling us to remain part of the Preston community.”
