This October, the traditional bierkeller experience returns to Preston Grasshoppers and promises to provide a great weekend of quality German beers, food, live entertainment, singing and dancing!
The event is inspired by Oktoberfest, the world’s largest beer festival and travelling funfair held annually in Munich, Germany. Expect large steins of beer, traditional live Oompah music, bar staff in lederhosen, dancing on the tables and a good ‘knees up’ all round.
This year the clubhouse will be transformed into a bierkeller, with long tables, benches, and some of the best German lagers and food on offer throughout.
The weekend kicks off on Friday 6th October with ‘Hoptoberfest Eve’ in the Wainwright Bar. Entry is free and the famous ‘Brasshoppers’ band will be turning their hand to traditional German Oompah sounds for evening. This is a great chance to come and sample a variety of German lagers, food and music for the evening.
On the afternoon of Saturday 7th October, the pre-match lunch will be Bavarian Style as the Dooley Suite is transformed into the bierkeller! A three course lunch and match entry to Hoppers vs Kirkby Lonsdale is just £20, and the Brasshoppers will provide the entertainment at half time. The main Hoptoberfest event kicks off in the evening, entry is just £10 and traditional music will come from the Howlerz Oompah Band. The night should be a great laugh and provide a good opportunity for all of the senior teams to get together to support the club and have a social. Fancy dress is positively encouraged and there will be spot prizes for the best!
