Huge Hoppers Response to Foodbank Appeal

Date: 24 January 2021

The Preston Grasshoppers wider community came together this morning to show that even though the world may be in the middle of a global pandemic they can always be relied upon to dig deep and help those in need when required.

Following an appeal from The Salvation Army Foodbank in Preston for donations due to supplies running low, the Hoppers community responded fantastically with donations dropped off at the club throughout the day filing 7 cars from tailgate to the front seats!

Alongside this, a PayPal Pool for cash donations was setup which will enable the foodbank to use their bulk buying arrangements with suppliers to further bolster the items on offer to the families needing help. At the time of writing, this the donations stood at over £1,000. You can still donate here.

A special mention must go to Sarah Burke, manager of the U10s, who had the idea for the original foodbank collection last year.

Thank you so very much to everyone who donated items or cash.
