It is with regret that the Club has been informed of the death of John Leigh OBE at the age of 91.
John was educated at St Bees School in Cumbria and later obtained his Master’s Ticket which set him on a career of sailing in areas such as Papua New Guinea, The Gambia and Mozambique to name but a few.
He was a member of the Hoppers for over 60 years and graced the pitch in a Hoppers forwards shirt for a number of years.
