Keith Brierley elected as new President

Date: 03 September 2018

Long serving member Keith Brierley was elected President at the recent AGM taking over from Hadyn Gigg MBE who served a four-year term in the office.

Hadyn said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it has been an eventful 4 years, involving relegation, promotion and several developments, notably the installation of the artificial grass pitch and sale of the surplus car parking area. I feel that the Club is in a very strong position to forge ahead and I wish Keith all the best for his term of office.”

Keith responded: “Hadyn has done a great job and I feel very honoured to take over especially since the Club will be celebrating its sesqui-centennial (150 years to those who. like me, don’t have the Latin!) It is going to be a very busy few years and I am really looking forward to it.”

Keith, of course, is a former First XV stalwart who ‘graduated’ to the social sides over the next 4 decades, including the eponymous ‘Dad’s Army’ and eventually the Strollers. We wish him well for his term of office.
