Kukri and Hoppers Continue Winning Formula

Preston based International sportswear company, Kukri, and Preston Grasshoppers have renewed their partnership for a further four years.

The rugby club and the sportswear company have been in partnership for a number of years and this continued link reinforces the strong bond between the two local entities.

Kukri’s North West Sales Manager, James Oakes, added: “We are delighted here at Kukri to agree a new four year deal with Preston Grasshoppers. As a Preston based company it is fantastic to continue our relationship with a beacon in the Preston area which has a fantastic heritage and following. We look forward to a continued fantastic partnership with PGRFC.”

Kukri will continue to produce leisure, training and playing wear for the club which will be available from their own online shop. The club have worked alongside Kukri designers to come up with unique designs while maintaining the traditional values and ethos of one of the most renowned rugby clubs in the North West.

Preston Grasshoppers General Manager, Richard Ellis, commented: “We are delighted to have renewed our kit contract with Kukri for a further four years on improved sponsorship terms. We are pleased to be maintaining strong links with another Preston based company who are providing us with quality and stylish playing and leisure wear.”

Not only is Kukri involved on the field but off the field they also have a close association with Preston Grasshoppers. The hoppers head coach, Garth Dew is the video guru at Kukri working as part of the marketing team to create amazing videos on all things Kukri. He graduated in Music Production and loves his rugby.

Garth adds: “Becoming head coach of Preston Grasshoppers at such a young age is a huge honour for me and a challenge I’m really looking forward to. I also really enjoy working for Kukri Sports within the marketing team and the fact we will continue to provide Hoppers kit means I can also do my rugby club proud whilst wearing the Kukri ‘Chang’ too which is great.’
