Covid 19 has hit HE sport particularly hard and Lancaster University Students’ Union in Partnership with UCLan and the RFU are looking for a focussed and committed team player to help us support the rebuild and growth Rugby Union across the region. Lancaster have recently recruited a new Associate Director of Sport and the new multi million pound sports centre extension is finished and ready to host an exciting calendar of sporting events. UCLan has also recently started to implement its new sports strategy. You will join us at an exciting but challenging time for sport at Lancaster and UCLan as we work collaboratively with our Universities to shape our sporting offer to reflect Lancaster’s top 10 academic standing and UCLan’s ambition to increase in British University Collages Sport (BUCS) standing.
This role will be a fundamental part of our recreational sporting programme that engages thousands of students across both campus, giving them an outlet for their passions and helping them to develop new skills in the process. You’ll become part of an energetic team dedicated to supporting students make the most of their time here through opportunities that have a positive impact on the University experience across both Lancaster and UCLan.
We are looking for someone who can collaborate creatively with others but who also isn’t afraid of taking responsibility for the successful delivery of projects and events. To succeed in this role you will need an eye for detail and be able to demonstrate a high level of efficiency when it comes to administrative duties. You will need to have empathy and a good understanding of what it is like to be a student today and the subtleties of sporting landscape in higher education. A passion for rugby is a must too!

This is a full-time fixed term contract until 7 July 2022.
Please note the job requires some travel between Lancaster University and UCLan sports arena / Preston Grasshoppers.
