Both the Under 11s and Under 12s reached the Finals day of the Lancs Mini’s Festival cup after a weather interupted qualifying campaign.
The Under 11s won all six of their pool games conceeding only 7 points to qualify in style as North Lancs pool winners. The Under 11s have a reputation to uphold on Finals day as Hoppers have won the Under 11s competition for the last two years running – no pressure then!
The Under 12s qualification was a little more fraught, losing their first two games and then having to face re-arranged games lost due to the weather, but they hung on in and finished third in the North Lancs pool which was enough to see them through. They face a big challange, though, to retain the Cup they won last year as Under 11s.
We wish both sides the best of luck as they attempt to emulate Hoppers achievement of winning both Cups in last years competition. Finals day is on Sunday 7th April at Leigh Rugby Club.
