Preston Grasshoppers RFC wishes to pass on our congratulation to the newly crowned Squash World Champion Laura Massaro.
The name Massaro should ring a bell with members as Laura is married to our former squash first team captain Danny Massaro.
Another interesting angle is that Laura was coached from the age of 9 until the 14 by our own squash coach Mike Farrington. After a Semi-Final defeat in her first Junior National Tournament at U13 level Laura went on to win every Junior National Title up to the age of 19 and the rest is history!
Mike said ‘It was a very successful period and to coach somebody who was so dedicated was a great pleasure.’
Mike currently heads up our Junior Squash Club on Saturday from 1pm-3pm. If you are interested in your child receiving coaching from a coach who has worked with a World Champion then get in touch using the details in the poster below.
We also offer squash memberships for all those wishing to play squash and racketball. Our 3 courts have recently been refurbished and are some of the best in the North West of England.
