Lloyd Davies joins Hoppers

Date: 30 January 2014

PGRFC are pleased to announce the signing of 21 year old Lloyd Davies from Wharfedale RFC. The centre/fly half has recently moved to the Preston area to live and work and has decided to make the move to Lightfoot Green to continue his rugby career. A product of the Wharfedale youth system, Davies has made over 30 National One appearances for the “Dalesmen” since his debut in the 2011/12 season. Comfortable in a variety of positions, Davies made his bow for the club at fly half in last weekend’s 2nd XV win over Stockport.

Speaking on his arrival Director of Rugby Gareth Dyer said “We are delighted to have added Lloyd to the squad. He has good experience at National One level and has looked an accomplished performer in training since arriving at the club. He will provide plenty of selection options and is the type of footballer we’ve been keen to add to the squad for some time. His registration has now gone through and he will come into contention for this weekend’s game with Luctonians having impressed last weekend for the 2nd XV”.

Dyer added “I’d like to thank Mike Harrison and Antony Davies at Wharfedale for their co-operation in allowing Lloyd’s transfer to go through in a timely manner”.
