Love not in the air for 2nd XV at Fylde

Date: 13 February 2015

Love will not be in the air as the table topping second team travel to the Woodlands for a Valentine’s lunch date with old adversaries Fylde.

Young’s men are unbeaten on their travels and head up the coast fresh from their comprehensive win over Chester last weekend. Hoppers last defeat away from the comfort of Lightfoot Green actually came at the Woodlands last season but Preston have got a great recent record over their old foes.

The hosts also enter the victory off the back of a big win against a depleted Sale side whilst their recent draw against the Tigers did Hoppers a big favour.

Both sides like to play rugby the right way and Fylde’s “no kick” policy should make for an entertaining encounter. Hoppers have scored more points than any other side whilst they also boast the meanest defence in the conference. Therefore they shall enter the fixture in confident rather than complacent mood.

Young’s selection is, as yet, unconfirmed. There are one or two injuries around Lightfoot Green whilst some of the more romantically minded players are unavailable, doubtless spending some quality time with their significant others.

Kick off has been scheduled for 12.45 to allow the players to take in the Six Nations with the Hoppers squad convening at 10.45 at the Green (11.15 at the Woodlands).
