Preston Grasshoppers women have completed 8 days so far in our many miles of May challenge.
The many miles of May challenge is a target we have set ourselves to achieve 1869 miles with a month to complete it. The most important thing is that we are all keeping to government guidelines whilst completing the exercises to reach this goal. Every girl that’s got involved from the women’s team have done their best to ensure every mile counts. Alongside this, it is helping the team stay in touch through our Strava app where we are logging the miles completed and posting pictures from any walks. We have completed over 800 miles so far which means as a team we are looking at smashing our goal of 1869 miles before the end of May.
The effort from each girl has been incredible, especially for us to achieve such a high number of miles in a single week. We have also previously spoken about how we want to smash our target goal of £250 to raise funds for the association of NHS Charities and continue to raise as much as we can throughout the month of May. At this moment we have raised £569 which is amazing and will all be put to good use. Our aim is be able to give back to key workers during this challenging this time so felt setting ourselves a fitness challenge to keep us all as healthy as we can be whilst raising what we can to help would be the perfect way to get involved.
Although the charity we have chosen is an NHS charity we still want to say thank you to all key workers in this time that are doing everything they can to try and keep us all as safe as we can be. As we have key workers on the team we felt getting involved and trying to raise what we can to help was what we wanted to do as a team. Hopefully we can go on to smash our distance target and continue raising more on our just giving page.
