Marc Maher join Hoppers

Date: 07 June 2024

After almost a year out with injury, fly half Marc Maher (30) has signed for Hoppers.

Previously, Marc has played at Blackburn, where he has been an integral part of their recent success, culminating in promotion to Regional One North West. Marc started his rugby journey at Fleetwood RUFC, before signing for Blackburn where he has spent the last 10 seasons.

Marc has representative honours with Lancashire U20s, and with the Lancashire Royals. Marc said, “I’m ready for a new challenge and the prospect of linking back up with my two brothers, and some good friends, has brought me to Hoppers. I‘m looking forward to the season ahead and can’t wait to get started in pre-season.

Head Coach Dan Orwin said,” Marc is versatile player who is equally comfortable at 10 or 12. He has a great skill set and is a very consistent player. Marc trained with us at the back end of last season and both players and coaches were impressed with him. We look forward to working with him. More importantly though, we’ve now completed the Maher brothers set, with Jake already playing here, and Danny joining us as the Forwards coach.”
