Mini / Junior weekend round-up

Date: 19 October 2016

The Minis sent teams to both Kirkby Lonsdale and Tyldesley this weekend, only a couple of the Junior teams were in action.

The Under 8s visited Tyldesley which looked like it was to a rainy affair but the clouds cleared and the sun cam out. Teamwork and Enjoyment were the key cores for this week and it was in abundance. Some great support play in attack. The defensive work caused the opposition to be pushed back at times and make errors. Great effort by all.

The remainder of the Under 8s arrived at a wet and windy Kirkby Longsdale. After a rainy warmup we set about the games. Both hoppers teams set about their jobs well against a very fast pushing defence. Hoppers scored lots of great tries and many brave tags were made by cold hands. Big thanks to all of the traveling parents and the Kirkby coaching staff for the games, hopefully it will be a warmer away fixture next year.

The Under 14s faced a tough away trip to Leigh, the teams were very closely matched and neither gave up trying (despite the ref deciding to play a near 40 minute second half!!) but Hoppers proved the better on the day – just! Hoppers winning 21-19.

The Under 15s lost 22-29 at home to Penrith. Great team made the journey down, with good rugby played in the right spirit!

The Colts put in a disappointing performance at home to Kirkby Lonsdale losing 0-59, Hoppers turning the ball over and missing tackles.
