The majority of Minis were away at Tarleton this weekend, the Under 11s played pretty well overall, although the game got a bit scrappy at times, in their 45 – 7 win over a Tarleton side struggling for players – Hoppers lent them a player to make up numbers.
The Under 12s fielded both a Hoppers and a Fireflies team as they visited Waterloo. Hoppers had 3 very close games with Waterloo but just lost out, while the Fireflies improved over the course of their 3 games and showed real determination to run Waterloo close in the 3rd game.
The Under 13s travelled to Waterloo, losing 19-5. After a slow start Hoppers produced a good 2nd half display in difficult windy conditions but could not claw back the Waterloo lead.
The Under 14s beat a Waterloo side at home 35*-5, Waterloo put in a big effort but had no answer to Hoppers speed and strength, Jake scoring 4 tries, excellant kicking from Tom N and all round performance from Ben.
Both Colts teams were in League Cup action this weekend, both having to travel for their first round matches. The Junior Colts lost to Stoke 29-5, while the Senior Colts continued their league form with a good win away at Manchester 48-19.
The Junior Colts now face a trip to Caldy in the Junior Bowl, the Senior Colts will also travel to Caldy for their Cup second round tie.
