The Minis were all at home training this weekend, while 3 of the Junior teams were in action against Kirkby Lonsdale.
Under 13shad a good victory at home 35-20 in a friendly match with Kirkby Lonsdale, some good rugby played in good spirit considering Hoppers were without a large number of players away playing with school, the standard of rugby was particularly good.
Last season the Under 15s contested an enjoyable away fixture to Kirkby Lonsdale which was memorable in many ways not least because out of a squad of 17 we had only 4 recognised backs. This Sunday felt like ground hog day as the Under 15s were reduced to a squad of 16, featuring 4 props and forwards once again drafted into the backs. Hoppers were never going to play their regular game but the boys that took to the pitch from both sides played out a sporting and fiercely contested game with reassuring patterns of maturing team play throughout the Hoppers team regardless of line up and a good run out for everyone, Hoppers running out winners 38-14.
Under 16s had a a good win 29-0 away at Kirkby Lonsdale.
