Mini Junior Weekend Round-up 15/4/18

Date: 12 April 2018

It was Junior Challenge Cup semi-final day at the weekend.

The Under 16s faced a tough draw in the Lancashire Junior Challenge Cup semi-final this weekend away to Waterloo.  Hoppers put in a valiant performance and were fighting back at 24-15 midway through the second half, but late tries saw Waterloo run out 50-15 winners, the score not reflecting the competitiveness of the game.

The Under 15s had a walk-over in their Development Plate semi-final against Trafford MV and will now face Liverpool St Helens in the Development Plate final.

The Under 14s beat Tarleton away 38-10 in their Development Plate semi-final with an excellent team performance. The performance was topped off by a superb individual try from Myles, where he fielded a kick just outside his own twenty two and went on well balanced jinking run to score under the posts. It was definitely the best performance of the season of the season so far by this group.

The Colts had a tough day at the office against a Wharfedale side heading for the final of their county cup.  Wharfedale had too much pace for Hoppers although the effort put was as high as ever.
