The weather took its toll again this weekend with all games and training on the main pitches at Hoppers being cancelled due to waterlogging. Some action did take place with Minis and Juniors in action against Waterloo.
The Under 7’s hosted a strong squad from Waterloo at Tulketh but stood firm in defensive play. There was some great teamwork off loading the ball before being tagged which, in turn, opened up the game and allowed tries to be scored. Well done to all.
The Under 14s sent the whole squad to Waterloo, the Development team played fantastic, with great defence and great forward work and running from the backs, beating West Park 28-0 and a Waterloo Development team 21-7. The main team found it harder work losing 43-0 to a Waterloo side that will be there or there abouts in the Lancashire cup this year.
the Under 16s ran out 34-17 winners away at Waterloo – the pitches at Crosby were a joy to behold although the wind could have cut you in two!. A good game, despite the wind, saw Hoppers score 3 tries in each half and defend well against a determined Waterloo outfit.
