Mini/Junior Weekend round-up – 15th October

Date: 18 October 2017

The Minis all had fixtures away against Waterloo this weekend. The Juniors were also in action against Waterloo.

Hoppers U9s out played and out classed Waterloo this weekend in both defence and attack. Hoppers showed great core values of teamwork and discipline and our tackle rate showed true determination – from the smiles on a number of faces it seemed they relished the physicality that they are now getting accustomed to and seem to have forgotten all about tag rugby!

The Under 16s dominated possession in their game away at Waterloo but lost out 34-0 to the hosts, the score was not a true reflection of play with Hoppers playing some excellent rugby.

The Colts had another frustrating day losing at home 41-10 to a combined Manchester/Stockport side.  Some good defensive work and plenty of effort from the Colts who had a great period early in the second half but couldn’t get the second score which would have given them the lead. Makos were the better side but the score was very flattering to the visitors.

The Hoppers girls travelled to Burnley this weekend for their first “Pitch Up and Play” of the season. After some small sided games they merged with Vale of Lune to play a full 15 aside match. The success of this weekend is a testament to the girls and the hard work they have all been putting in at training! It’s onwards and upwards for Hoppers Girls!
