Mini/Junior weekend round-up

Date: 14 January 2015

While the Minis were all training at Hoppers, it was another Blacksticks Blue Junior Challenge Cup weekend for the Junior teams.

The Under 13s remain unbeaten after a narrow 21-19 victory away at Tyldesley and are still second in their pool with 2 games to play. It looks like it may come down to their last pool game against current leaders Manchester to clinch a top 2 spot and qualify for the Cup quarter finals.

The Under 15s continued their winning ways with a 30*-0 win away at Sefton. The Under 15s have already qualified for the Cup quarter finals but their last game at home to Fylde will determine who finishes top of the pool.

The Under 16s faced a trip to Manchester in a repeat of last years U15s final, Hoppers lost out 41-24 to the reigning champions in a great game of rugby but now find themselves under some pressure to ensure that they finish in the top three and qualify for the Cup quarter finals, a win at home to Blackburn is now a must.

The Under 14s suffered a deafeat in a friendly away to Liverpool Collegiate, but they were able to give game time to all squad players without the pressure of Cup points at stake.

The Junior Colts had a satisfying away win 17-6 over a vocal Lymm side who were made to eat their pre-match words by an improving Hoppers side.

The Senior Colts suffered a 19-22 defeat at home to Penrith, the second time this season they have lost by 3 points to the Cumbrian side.
