A prolific try scorer, he scored 21 league tries last season placing him second in the National 2 North standings. His 7 tries against Otley in April are a national league record for a forward. He was outstanding in Lancashire’s championship campaign, particularly in their final defeat at Twickenham. At club level, Moon enjoyed his most consistent season to date appearing in 28 league fixtures and was selected as the Players Player of the Season whilst he was also nominated in the National 2 North League team of the year.

Speaking on his appointment Dominic said “This is a great honour for me to be named captain. I’m determined to give the role 100%. I am very ambitious for us as a club to do well and gain some success that our hard work deserves”.

Director of Rugby Gareth Dyer said “I’ve known Dominic since he was a teenager and I’ve seen him mature as both a player and a person. The arrival of his daughter seems to have calmed him down and responsibility seems to be a positive influence on him! Last season he was outstanding and we saw him turn in highly consistent performances. I’m sure he will lead by example and he has the respect of the squad which is always important”.

Dyer also paid tribute to Wayne Steel. “Wayne assumed the captaincy during last season and led the team with authority. He has been an excellent captain for the club and I’m delighted he will be around to support Dominic as he is also highly respected. We have a growing number of leaders within the team and that can only be a positive for the campaign ahead”.
