National 7s for Hoppers Ladies

Date: 23 July 2017

The Hoppers ladies came away from the Open Regional 7s Finals in Leeds last Saturday as not only Runners up but with a place in the Open National Finals on Saturday 29th July.

The National Finals, set in the unique Bath Recreation Ground, combining an elite Premiership pitch with some of the most picturesque surroundings in the country, will see the ladies compete with 7 other Ladies sides for the honour of being crowned National 7’s Open Champions.

At the regional finals in Leeds, Hoppers played 4 pool games, winning 3 and narrowly losing 1, finishing the day in a brutal final against West Park Leeds, which Leeds deservedly won. Even though they lost the final, the day was a successful one and a beer on the way home was fully deserved by all the players and those who came to support. Special mention has to go Kate McMullan, Sarah Boaler, Sarah Barker, Sarah Lovejoy, Emily Stirzaker, Racheal Price, Charley Brunton, Kira Hope-Baines, Georgia Wilson, Lisa Marie Jones, leigh Hewson and the Captain Mollie Paling, who again led the team throughout the day.

This is a really exciting period for the Ladies and through their hard work they have earned the right to play names like such as Wasps Ladies RFC, Hartpury College Ladies, West Park Leeds Ladies and Exeter Ladies. Something they and the club should be very proud off.

Up the Hoppers!
