Scunthorpe vs. Preston Grasshoppers – Kick Off 2:15pm
Preston Grasshoppers start 2020 with a rare trip across the Pennines and into Licolnshire for a league fixture at Heslam Park the home of Scunthorpe RUFC hoping for a victory to kick start a revival and help them climb out of the relegation zone.
Our hosts have lost all of ther previous fifteen games and will be looking at their nearest league table opponents for a first victory.
No one has scored less than twenty four points against Scunthorpe this season, therefore the likelihood of another nil, nil draw is very unlikely!
If Preston Grasshoppers are to survive their current dilemma, they will need to put behind them all the misfortunes of the first part of the season and look forward with a positive attitude to the remaining fourteen fixtures.
After being relegated along with Hoppers, Scunthorpe took one more season than their visitors to regain their place in National 2 North. Scunthorpe topped Midlands Premier League at the end of last season, pipping Luctonians for the automatic promotion position by a single point.
There have only been three previous meetings between the two combatants in Lincolnshire this weekend, with Hoppers only success coming earlier this season at Lightfoot Green. So a much needed win would for the visitors would even things up.
