October Senior Player of the Month

Date: 05 November 2018

PGRFC is delighted to announce the winner of the “Senior Player of the Month” award for October. This award is given to a member of the 1st XV squad who has impressed on and off the field during that month and is chosen by the Coaching and Off Field Team.

The October winner is the versatile Luke Procter (sponsored by North West Boilers Ltd) who pips Oli Trippier, Sam Stott and Harry Holden to the award.

Procter has performed strongly in the “boiler room” of the second row and scored two tries in the home win over Macclesfield. His strong close quarter work has been a feature over the season to date and he has brought physicality in the loose and strength in the set piece.

Head of Rugby Operations Gareth Dyer said “Luke has developed a strong work ethic and has taken his chance to cement himself in the selection plans. I think it’s fair to say that Luke now recognises what it takes to play at this level and he is putting in a lot or extra work to improve his conditioning and overall standards. He is working hard with Donny Sutherland at improving his game and it is that attitude to improve that has been impressive. There is still a lot to come from Luke, but it is great to see a home grown talent and all round good lad playing well”.

The club would like to thank Chairman George Erdozain who has generously offered to sponsor the Player of the Month awards this season.
