O’Ryan joins Hoppers for new season

Date: 10 June 2024

Joining Hoppers ahead of the 2024/25 season is hardworking and durable back row forward, Ben O’Ryan. Ben joins from Blackburn.

Ben (28) played previously at Fylde, where he played in National League Two North. As a young player, Ben attended the Myerscough College AASE programme, gaining age-grade representative honours for Lancashire, as well as being a part of Ulster’s Academy. Whilst over in Ireland, Ben also represented Balymena.

On signing for Hoppers, Ben said “I’m excited to be joining Preston. They’ve a good, talented squad and I’ve always been impressed by the physicality and hard work that the players show for each other whenever I’ve played against them. I’m looking forward to preseason, and to proving myself this season.”

Head Coach Dan Orwin said, “Having worked with Ben at Myerscough College and Fylde, I know exactly what he is all about. He brings physicality and intensity to every performance, and he does the (often unseen) hard work. We are all looking forward to seeing Ben in preseason, and he will be a great signing for us.”
