PGRFC have signed Oli Trippier from neighbours Fylde for the upcoming campaign. Trippier, 23, is comfortable at both hooker and in the back row and his versatility will bring some useful flexibility in the upcoming league campaign.
He has been part of the 1st XV squad at the Woodlands for several seasons and is a former Lancashire U20 player. He was named player of the year last season for the Ansdell clubs 2nd XV.
Speaking on the signing Head Coach Paul Arnold said “I have coached Oli since he was a 17 year old and also when he was part of the Lancashire U20 squad. He’s a very talented player who isn’t afraid to put his head in where it hurts. His versatility will be vital to us this season given he is equally comfortable at hooker and in the back row. I’m really pleased that he is joining us”.
On joining the Lightfoot Green club, Oli said
“I’m really pleased to sign with Hoppers and think the vision that Arnie and Gareth have set out is brilliant for the club. The coaching set up looks impressive and I believe Hoppers is the best club for me to further my playing career. Can’t wait to meet all the lads and get started on pre-season”.
