Director of Rugby Gareth Dyer has informed the club that for personal reasons he has decided to step away from his role and involvement in rugby.
The club wants to thank Gareth for his huge contribution to the club during his two spells (2009/10 – 2014/15 and then again from 2017/18 to 2021/22) as Director of Rugby with PGRFC which he undertook in a volunteer capacity.
Under his tenure the club secured two promotions including one Northern Premier League Trophy, two Lancashire Cup wins, the Lancashire 7s and a number of top half National Two finishes. The 1st XV set a number of club playing records during his time in charge whilst the 2nd XV also secured three league and two cup titles over that period.
Chairman of Rugby Mike Bailey, together with members of the club executive and Head Coach Joel Unsworth will be covering those responsibilities previously undertaken by the Director of Rugby going forward.
