The Senior Squad have confirmed their pre-season plans where they will take on Sale FC, Waterloo and Burnage as they build up to the start of the season on 6th September. The arrangements are as follows:-
Friday 22nd August
Sale FC (A) – Kick off 7.45pm. This will involve both a 1st & 2nd XV fixture.
Thursday 28th August
Burnage 1st XV (A) – Kick off 7.45pm
Waterloo 1st XV (H) – Kick off 7.45pm
The Senior Squad will be split to play games against Burnage and Waterloo on the same evening.
Director of Rugby Gareth Dyer said “We have a reciprocal agreement in place with Sale FC as they visited Lightfoot Green last year. The games with Sale were well contested last year and we were able to give a lot of players game time in the two fixtures against them. The following Thursday we will again play two games against two good sides in Burnage and Waterloo. Playing against two club 1st XV’s will give the whole squad an opportunity to put their hands up for selection for the league opener against Hull the following week. I’d like to thank both Wayne Morris at Burnage and Jan Van Deventer at Waterloo for their cooperation in arranging the games”.
