Friday 8th March saw the 8th annual Preston Sports Awards take place. The evening was hosted at the Guild Hall in Preston and was attended by over 300 guests including guest speaker Jody Cundy who is the winner of 5 Paralympic gold medals throughout his swimming and cycling career.
Preston Grasshoppers had two nominations on the evening with women’s coach Mariette Claassens being nominated for ‘Coach of the Year’ and the 2nd XV nominated for ‘Senior Team Performance of the Year’.
Mariette wasn’t selected as the winner of her category but did receive a ‘highly commended’ award (pictured below).
The 2nd XV had more fortune and were declared as the winners of their category! Manager Ade Jebb was on hand to accept the award (pictured below).
Preston Grasshoppers RFC is very proud of both Mariette and the 2nd XV. Well done to all concerned!
