Preston youngsters selected for North of England Under 18s

Date: 04 January 2017

Huge congratulations are extended from everyone at Preston Grasshoppers to Jack Granby and Connor Johnson who have been selected to represent the North of England Under 18s, and also to Joe Hunt who also trailed for the team but just missed out on selection.

Their first game is on Sunday 26th February at Dudley Kingwinsford RFC, where they will play the Midlands, as well as two further training dates throughout the month.

Jack Granby is a second row and has been with Hoppers since the start of the season, looking impressive in both training and games.  His enthusiasm to learn, his commitment on the field and his attitude gives him the necessary attributes to be successful. Jack also plays rugby for Runshaw College and is a graduate of the Tarleton Colts setup.

Connor is also a recent new recruit to Hoppers after a storming season with the Myerscough Rugby Academy.  Connor is a mobile and hard running hooker who has skippered Lancashire U18s this season in a tough campaign.  A Myerscough regular and product of Blackburn RUFC, Connor is looking forward to the opportunity to play for the North and also eager to pull a Hoppers shirt on and make his debut this weekend alongside Joe Hunt.

Congratulation on your efforts Jack, Connor and Joe.  All at Hoppers are very proud of you.
