Raid de Pyrenees

Date: 04 September 2013

Hoppers member Simon ‘Moose’ Mulholland has completed his mammoth cycling feat in the Pyrenees. ‘Moose’ cycled 433 miles across the South of France taking in some of the world’s most gruelling climbs, completing the course in 97 hours (including sleep and rest stops) which was within the 100 hour time limit. Simon spent 33hrs in the saddle and climbed 37,000 feet which included Tour de France favourites the ‘Col du Tourmalet’, and the ‘Col de Port’.

Simon was cycling to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and has so far raised over £1500 towards his target of £2000. You can help him get to his target by visiting his donations page at http://www.justgiving.com/simon-mulholland2013rp.

The club would like to say a huge well done to ‘Moose’ on this fantastic achievement.
