RL Convert Meadows Added to Hoppers Senior Squad

Date: 31 August 2017

PGRFC are delighted to welcome Rob Meadows to the senior squad for the upcoming season.

Rob, who had a spell in the Hoppers Colts in 2014, joins the club from Wigan St. Patricks ARLFC, a famous nursery for many players over the years.

He originally began playing at Chorley Panthers ARLFC before moving to the “Pats” and was selected for the England Lions U19 league side in 2014 whilst he has also represented the England Students RL side whilst studying at Loughborough University and spent time with the Coventry Bears in the RL National League. Meadows follows in many cross-code players who have graced Lightfoot Green down the years.

Speaking on his decision to cross codes Rob said “Pre-season has been quite a challenge as I’ve had so much to learn. However, I feel I’ve settled in well and I am ready for a big season with the boys”.

Head Coach Paul Arnold said “Rob has impressed in pre-season and has shown a great attitude and strong work ethic. He’s got some union experience but the coaches have been impressed with how quickly he is developing. We feel he is someone who can make a big impression this season”.

Welcome to Lightfoot Green Rob!
