Live rugby returns to Lightfoot Green this weekend with the 1sts, 2nds and 5ths all in pre season action.
The 1st XV take on Huddersfield on the AGP in what should be a fascinating contest and give a good indication of what shape the squad is in as we approach the new season. Huddersfield ‘leap-frogged’ Hoppers by winning promotion back to National 2 North last season, going unbeaten in the process. The 1st XV will be looking to achieve a similar feat this season following relegation to the North Premier division and will be given a stern test by the Yorkshire side – kick off is 2.35pm.
The 2nd XV are playing in a round-robin against Huddersfield 2nd XV and Longton 1st XV.
The schedule for the games is as follows:
PGRFC 2nd XV vs Huddersfield 2nd XV – Kick off 1pm (AGP)
Huddersfield 2nd XV vs Longton 1st XV – Kick off 1.45pm (AGP)
PGRFC 2nd X vs Longton 1st XV – Kick off 2.35pm (2nd XV pitch)
PGRFC 1st XV vs Huddersfield 1st XV – Kick off 2.35 pm (AGP)
The 5th XV also have some game time against Bowden on the back pitches.
