Hoppers 2s travel up the coast to face neighbours Fylde in a Friday night fixture at the Woodlands.
Mike Lough’s men comfortably dispatched their opponents back in January in a game notable for Hoppers forward domination and desire to spin the ball wide. Somewhat surprisingly this was reported as “one-up” rugby in some quarters. An observation not borne out by the number of tries scored by the men from Lightfoot Lane this season.
As seems common place for this stage of the season, the Hoppers squad is again stretched to the limit but they approach the fixture in confident mood. Amongst the squad members unavailable are Cameron Berry, Ally & Mark Murray, Jack Banks, Terry McGuire, Owen McKenna and Mark Edwards. Additionally Phil Mills, Alex Austin, Josh Purnell and Chris Lowden are on first team duty.
A victory for Hoppers will see them keep pace with leaders Sedgley Park although Lough’s men currently sit in fourth place having played a game less than those above them.
Meet time is 6pm at Hoppers or 6.30pm at The Woodlands. The squad in full is:
