Senior Player of the Month – October

Date: 01 November 2017

After deliberation we are delighted to announce the October winner of the “Senior Player of the Month” award. This award is given to a member of the 1st XV Squad who has impressed on and off the field during that month and is chosen by the Coaching and Off-Field team.

The October winner of the Senior Player of the Month Award is hooker Connor Johnson (sponsored by A & N Business Computer Systems) who has enjoyed an outstanding month and pips fellow squad member Matt Lamprey to the award.

Connor impressed with his performances for the 2nd XV during the early part of the month which resulted in him winning a debut call up for the 1st XV for the game against Pocklington.  A willing learner, he has demonstrated high standards in training and was a willing participant in meeting the main match sponsors after his debut 1st XV game.

Head of Rugby Operations Gareth Dyer said “Connor is an exciting young talent who we have high hopes for. He is young man learning a difficult position but has shown he can handle the demands of the hooking role in what is his first season of senior rugby. We are delighted with his progress and will continue  to manage his development closely. He is an impressive individual and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop his all round game”.

The club would like to thank Baileys Financial Services who have agreed to sponsor the Senior Player and Club Player of the Month awards for the rest of the season.
