Senior Player of the Month – February

Date: 07 March 2018

We are delighted to announce the February winner of the “Senior Player of the Month” award. This award is given to a member of the 1st XV Squad who has impressed on and off the field during that month and is chosen by the Coaching and Off-Field team.

The February winner of the Senior Player of the Month Award is club favourite Pete Altham (sponsored by Evans Halshaw) who pips Niall Crosley and Chris Roddy to the award.

The ever-consistent Altham has been part of a powerful pack performance in the season to date, one that was particularly evident in the win over Rossendale. Strong in the scrum, Pete has been superb around the field and in the games during the month he put in a series of huge tackles and big carries. He was also part of a winning England Deaf XV in their game versus Wales Deaf at Ilkley a fortnight ago.

Head of Rugby Operations Gareth Dyer said “Peter has enjoyed a strong season and has been in the vanguard of a strong forward pack this season. In addition to his strong work at the set-piece and in the tackle, he has really shown his handling skills this year and scored a number of important tries as well”.

The club would like to thank Baileys Financial Services who have agreed to sponsor the Senior Player and Club Player of the Month awards for the rest of the season.
