PGRFC is delighted to announce the winner of the “Senior Player of the Month” award for November. This award is given to a member of the 1st XV squad who has impressed on and off the field during that month and is chosen by the Coaching and Off Field Team.
The November winner is the mainstay of the Hoppers pack Peter Altham (sponsored by Evans Halshaw) who pips James Gough and Will Goodier to the award.
Altham is again enjoying a strong campaign. His strong set piece work added to his sound defensive shifts and heavy ball carrying continues to make him one of the first names on the team sheet.
Head of Rugby Operations Gareth Dyer said “Pete has had his niggles this season, but he has started to find some consistency in recent weeks and he performed strongly in the games against Tynedale and Peterborough. He wasn’t 100% fit for the trip to Hinckley but put his hand up to start when other players may have pulled out. That’s a sign of his commitment to the team and his willingness to put the team before himself. He is a well-liked member of the club and a well-respected player on the league circuit”.
