Preston Grasshoppers have named the squad for their first pre-season game of 2015/16 with National 3 Midlands outfit Newport (Salop) RUFC which takes place tomorrow at Lightfoot Green with a 2pm kick off.
Notable absentees include scrum-halfs Sam Kindred and Harrison Moulding as well as Reece Tomlinson, Chris Taylor and Andy Napier from the pack all of whom are either injured or unavailable this weekend.
Ahead of the fixture Head Coach Garth Dew said “This friendly will provide us with a great opportunity to put all our hard work into practice against some decent opposition. The lads have worked incredibly hard on their conditioning and structure and they’ll relish the chance to go out and get into a real game scenario. Competition for places is fierce so I’m expecting players to give it their all and put their hand up for 1st XV selection.”
Admission to the game is free for tomorrow and with decent weather forecast it would be good to see a sizeable crowd to cheer on the lads.
