Team Hoppers Rollers is formed!
It’s official the Hoppers Rollers has turned into a full blown cycling club affiliated to British Cycling! We are aiming to cater for all standards of cycling from Social Cyclists (our rugby roots), through Sport Riders (category 3 and 4) to elite cyclists (Elite, cat 1 and 2). We have signed 4 top local cyclists who will compete at regional, national and international events under the Team Hoppers Rollers name and also signed up a number of sponsors to help fund the team.
Please consider joining the club (details below). You will get the opportunity to participate in many club events. As we do now there will club runs and pre match cycles and we hope to add for example a club sportive and a track day. But more than that if you want to progress your cycling to higher levels the club will help you try out time trials or road races.
We have set membership prices as follows:-
Existing members of Preston Grasshoppers (Social, Rugby, Full, VP etc) – just £20 extra will get you a Hoppers Rollers membership.
Non members will be asked to take out a social membership of PGRFC for £30 plus the £20 cycling club membership. You will then receive all the benefits of being a social member of the club (including a 10% discount card for alcoholic drinks at the bar).
The club is fully affiliated to British Cycling so by becoming a member of Hoppers Rollers cycling club, you will get the following benefits.
All new members who belong to an affiliated cycling club will be able to join for free in their first year with British Cycling at Silver level (if under 16years) or Bronze level (if over 16 years). Alternatively you can upgrade at a discounted rate. visit the membership pages.
Members of British cycling then receive a range of discounts which should more than cover the cost of membership most important of which is insurance!
In addition members will benefit from 25% discount of one our sponsors OTE’s products.
The club is also now insured as an affiliated club of British Cycling.

Club Launch
Please come along to an informal get together of club members in the lounge bar at Hoppers on Friday November 29th at 7.30pm. The club organisers and elite riders will be on hand to answer any of your questions on membership, kit, racing or anything else about the club.
