Preston Grasshoppers are pleased to announce that Daniel Thwaites brewery of Lancashire are sponsoring the first home game of the season on Saturday 1st September against Darlington Mowden Park, kick off 2.30pm.
Ahead of their day at the Hoppers we caught up with Regional Sales Manager Martin Shearer to ask him a few questions about why Thwaites are sponsoring the game and his thoughts for how the game might go.
Why are Thwaites keen to sponsor a Preston Grasshoppers 1st XV game?
We have sponsored a game every season for the past 15 years. It is a great vehicle for us to entertain our local customers ‘good food’ , ‘good beer’ and hopefully ‘good rugby’. The welcome & hospitality from the club is always first class.
What connections do Thwaites have to Preston Grasshoppers?
We have been beer, wines, spirits and soft drinks supplier & sponsors for the past 15 years. So a very long term relationship.
What services do Thwaites offer?
We offer to supply a full range of award winning cask and keg beers, lagers, ciders, Stouts, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Together with financial & sponsorship packages to free trade outlets in the North West, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Potteries and the North East of England.
What would you say to other companies who might be interested in sponsoring a Hoppers 1st XV game?
It’s a great way to entertain you customers. With excellent facilities, good food and good beer. We are made to feel welcome and nothing too much trouble. The day can be tailored to your own requirements.
