Impressive scrum half Jake Squirrel has capped an excellent first season with the club by committing his future to the Lightfoot Green outfit.
It has been a season to remember for Jake who not only notched over 130 points for the club in his debut season but won representative honours with the Lancashire Royals Squad before being named in the Senior Squad for the County Championship season.
He was also edged out to the runners up spot in the club’s annual Strictly Come Hoppers Dancing Extravaganza despite two nearly faultless performances!
Jake said “I am very excited to continue my Hoppers journey next year. I said when I initially joined that this was a team that could go places and I can’t wait to see how far this group can go. The management and background staff have been awesome and the lads turn up for each other every weekend and put in solid team performances. It was an easy decision re-signing for Hoppers”.
Head Coach Paul Arnold said “Squiz has done very well this season and has developed his game through hard work. He has bought heavily into the club ethos and has been rewarded with representative calls and quickly becoming a crowd favourite. Together with Harrison Moulding we have two of the brightest young scrum half talents around and I hope that they will spur each other on to achieve their potential”.
