Both the U11s and U12s qualified for the Lancashire Mini’s Festival finals following the completion of the 3rd round of matches in the competition.
The U11s wons all 6 of their group games to top the North Lancashire conference table and qualified along with Fylde who finished second.
They will join Broughton Park and Manchester from the Manchester conference, and Southport and Waterloo from the Merseyside conference along with Sedgley Park and Blackburn as the two clubs with the next best playing records. The 8 teams will compete in a Mini’s festival to be held at Wigan on Sunday 15th April at Wigan RFC.
The U12s came runners-up to Vale of Lune in the North Lancs conference to qualify for the finals after belately completing their programme of matches on Sunday.
There are some results yet to come in for the other conferences as a result of the round 2 games being lost to the weather in January, but Leigh, Southport and Liverpool Collegiate have already been named as qualifiers with 3 places still up for grabs.
The U12s finals day will also be at Wigan RFC on the 15th April – as an added incentive, the Festival finals provides the ‘seeding’ for the 2012/3 U13s Lancashire Cup groups.
