Volunteering at Preston Grasshoppers 2017/18

Date: 13 July 2017

Hopfest 2017 wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic work of all the volunteers, and the club is very grateful to everyone who gave up their time to help out.

Hoppers relies on the good will of members to help at such events, which provide essential revenue that the club requires to operate successfully.

At this time, the club is looking to appoint a team of honorary stewards to assist on match days for the coming season. You should be able to commit to at least 10 of the club’s home games per season. Required from 11.45am to kick off then half an hour after the game.

Duties would be to assist with car parking, gate entry, safety, assisting spectators, keeping people off the pitch and emergency evacuation.

In return you would receive free entry to the game, food and drink and two pre-match hospitality places per season.  As experienced stewards you would also be expected to lead teams of volunteers at large club events such as Bonfire Night and HopFest.

Club member Chris Ford, who has recently volunteered at Hoppers, said:

”Working as a volunteer is both rewarding and fulfilling. It will also give you vital experience that counts for such a lot in the world of employment. Anybody can be a volunteer as long as you’re passionate about what you are doing. There are many different roles within Preston Grasshoppers where you can get involved. Your hours as a volunteer can be arranged to fit in with your way of life. No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided wherever necessary.  As a volunteer it will help us in running club events like Hoppfest, and many more, and  will make a massive difference to the support given to people within Preston Grasshoppers.”

Thank you in advance for all your help.
