Wilkinson to tour Hungary with England Counties U20’s

Date: 07 April 2015

Hooker Jack Wilkinson is the 3rd Hoppers player this season to be named in an England squad after he was named in the England Counties Under 20’s squad to tour Hungary in June.

Jack is a hugely promising player who has featured in the club’s 1st XV six times so far this season and surely has a big future in the game. Starting his representative season with the Lancashire Under 20’s and then progressing into the North of England squad, Jack now has the opportunity to represent his country in Hungary.

When we spoke to Jack he said “I’m incredibly proud to be selected in the squad and can’t wait to get stuck in! It’s great playing alongside fellow hookers Alan, Brad and Phil at Hoppers, the competition had really spurred me on to improve my game. I just hope I can do everyone proud.”

Everyone at Hoppers wishes Jack well. We’ll all be backing you in Hungary!

Jack joins Jake Pope (selected for England U18’s) and John Mackenzie (Captain of England Counties Under 18’s) in achieving international honours this season.
